The Concord of God and Man 2005 and 2025.

This picture is my poor attempt at interpretation of the new Jerusalem in the new Earth and the new Heaven, based upon the New Testament Book of Revelation, chapters 21 to 22.

The underlying structure is one of various integrated geometric shapes symbolising the laws of everything created by God and telling of harmony, order, elegance. I have used a gold circle and white square at the centre of the new Jerusalem to represent the throne and presence of God the Father and The Holy Spirit. The black surrounding the centre denotes the Cross and the red drops the shed blood of Jesus poured out to the four corners of the Earth to redeem all mankind and creation from sin and death by His death and resurrection. The different tribes of redeemed peoples, are represented by the green playing card symbols, redeemed by Jesus’ shed blood and resurrection. The city is of pure gold, shown here by gold and yellow and is laid out as a square, as wide and as high as it is long. I have indicated the height by a dot on the radiating gold, red and black lines from the centre. The dots also form an invisible circle which also signals the presence of the Holy Spirit. The new Jerusalem is enclosed by a red wall, denoting jasper, and its foundation of twelve different precious stones I have shown by other colours. Written on these precious stones are the names of the twelve apostles. The city wall has twelve open gates of pearls, shown here by light grey and each city gate has an angel shown by the silver eye shape. The names of the twelve tribes of Israel are on the city gates. Through the city is the blue river of the water of life flowing from the throne of God and out into the new Earth. The tree of life is shown by the four orange (fruit), green (leaves) and brown (branches) discs. There are twelve kinds of fruit and the leaves are for the healing of the nations which are also shown in green.

I have used The Star of David to show that Jesus is a Jew and it is composed of gold to represent His divine nature and red to represent His humanity, harmoniously combined by the Star of David. I’ve used a crown of intertwined branches surrounding the new Earth as a metaphor for the concord of God and Man, living together in the New Jerusalem. Redeemed mankind is represented by six plain branches and Jesus the Son of God by seven branches which have three thorn like needles, their ends red, as a reminder of His shed blood, suffering to redeem mankind. The universe, now transformed into the new Heaven by Jesus’ death and resurrection triumph over sin, death and the enemy, is shown as white. I have shown this triumph as extending from the points on the Star of David by means of red and gold lines. As Jesus has said, ‘I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End’.

For those who reject God, their eternal home is in a burning lake of fiery sulphur shown in the left corner. There they have no rest.
